Although some of these U.S. paper money notes carry more of a premium than others, most $2 and $5 Red Seals that are seen are circulated notes from common series that carry very little premium over face value. How does the silver coin's edge look? If the coin edge should be reeded, and isn't (or vice versa) this is a giant red flag, since mint errors of this type are very rare. Also, if the coin has a seam around the edge, a bit of a protrusion on the edge that could be a casting sprue, or file marks indicating a sprue or seam was removed, don't buy the coin!

I personally have mixed emotions about prooflike gold coins. Due to the fact that gold is a soft metal, the surfaces tend to easily pick up marks, nicks and scratches and these tend to be strongly amplified by deep, reflective fields. Unless a Prooflike gold coin is a Gem, it tends to have a scruffy appearance and may have compromised eye appeal as a result.

Then, they look through the many price lists they might have to find a dealer who offers the same note in an acceptable condition for an acceptable price. Whatever method you try to clean a coin, it's best to test it on a non-valuable coin of similar metal first. That way if a certain method does have bad effects, you'll find out before you ruin a valuable coin.
